The summer travel season of 2023 starts on July 1st and ends on August 31st, with a total of 62 days. During the travel season, BJMTR has taken various measures to closely monitor the weather and passenger flow to ensure passengers' safety.
During the summer travel season, about 130.292 million passengers were carried by lines operated by BJMTR, of which the patronage of Line 4-Daxing reached about 65.047 million, the patronage of Line 14 reached about 46.805 million, the patronage of Line 16 reached about 14.622 million, the patronage of Line 17 reached about 3.818 million. A total of 103,612 trains including 264 temporary trains were put into service. The overall operation was stable and orderly.
Line 4 extended operation for 51 days making travel more convenient
Beijing South Railway Station of Line 4 can transfer to Line 14 and the railway station which also serves as a major interchange station in the transit network. During the summer travel season, Beijing South Railway Station handles nearly 300,000 passenger trips daily. To facilitate the transportation connection between the two stations during the summer travel season and ensure smooth travel for passengers arriving in Beijing in the evening, from July 18 to August 31, the operating hours of BJMTR have been extended. On Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays, the last train departing from Beijing South Railway Station towards Anheqiao Bei(N) station extended to 11:40 pm. On Fridays and Sundays, the last train departing from Beijing South Railway Station towards Anheqiao Bei(N) station extended to 11:53 pm.
From July 1st to August 31st, the BJMTR extended operation for a total of 51 days, providing passengers with greater convenience.
With the autumn semester about to begin, it is important to enhance passenger flow management to ensure smooth travel
With the upcoming of the new school year, it is expected that there will be an increase in passenger flow at stations near schools, such as Ping'anli station, Xinjie Kou station, and Haidian Huangzhuang station on 4-Daxing Line, as well as Xiju station, Fangzhuang station, and Beijing Univ. of Tech. West Gate station on Line 14. On the first day of school, during peak hours, staff will be stationed at platforms, concourses, AFC gates, and escalators to guide passenger flow and provide assistance to passengers in need.
In addition, 4-Daxing Line and Line 14 of the BJMTR will be prepared to operate additional trains based on the passenger flow situation, making it more convenient for passengers to travel smoothly during the morning and evening peak hours.
