Line 4-Daxing Line
Beijing Metro Line 4
On April 12, 2006, BJMTR and Beijing Municipal Government officially signed the "Beijing Metro Line 4 Project Concession Agreement". According to the agreement, BJMTR participated in the investment, construction, and operation of Line 4 under a PPP model, with a concession period of 30 years. The Line 4 project is divided into two parts, A and B. The Beijing Municipal Government is responsible for the investment and construction of Part A ((tunnels, station structure etc.), while BJMTR invested 4.6 billion RMB and is responsible for investing in and constructing Part B of the Line 4 project (rolling stocks, signaling systems, ticket machines etc.).
Line 4 is a main artery of Beijing’s rail transit network that runs north to south through the city, passing through the densely populated districts of Fengtai, Xicheng, and Haidian. Along the way, it traverses large residential areas, educational and scientific zones, high-tech industrial parks, commercial districts, and tourist attractions. The line is 28 kilometers long with a total of 24 stations, of which all except Anheqiao Bei(N) station are underground.
On September 28, 2009, BJL4 opens for operation. The trains commence service in Automatic Train Operation (ATO) mode with the shortest headway of 3 minutes on the opening day. It realizes the shortest headway less than 2 minutes during morning peak hours from south to north on weekdays since 2011.
Beijing Metro Daxing Line
On December 30, 2009, BJMTR signs the O&M Franchise Agreement of Daxing Line (DXL) with Beijing Rail Transit Daxing Line Investment Co.,Ltd. and becomes the operator of DXL.
DXL starts from Gongye Xiqiao station in Fengtai District in the north and extends to Tiangong Yuan station in Daxing District in the south. The line is 22 kilometers long with a total of 11 stations, including one elevated station and ten underground stations.
On December 30, 2010, DXL was opened to the public and on the same day, it was connected to the entire Line 4, expanding the total operational route length to 50 kilometers.
