Beijing Metro Line 14

 

On November 26, 2014, BJMTR and Beijing Municipal Government officially signed the "Beijing Metro Line 14 Project Concession Agreement". According to the agreement, BJMTR participated in the investment, construction, and operation of Line 14 under a PPP model, with a concession period of 30 years. The Line 14 project is divided into two parts, A and B. The Beijing Municipal Government is responsible for the investment and construction of Part A ((tunnels, station structure etc.), while BJMTR invested 15 billion RMB and is responsible for investing in and constructing Part B of the Line 14 project (rolling stocks, signaling systems, ticket machines etc.).

 

Line 14 is an exceptionally long L-shaped route in Beijing’s rail transit network, passing through major transportation hubs, large commercial districts, and numerous residential areas. It serves as a key transportation link from southwest to northeast Beijing. The line spans a total length of 50.8 kilometers. Line 14 is the first route in Beijing’s rail transit network to utilize 6-car type A trains.

 

The western section of Line 14 (Zhangguozhuang station – Xiju station) opens for operation on May 5, 2013 with 7 stations in which Qilizhuang station opens on February 15, 2014. 

 

The eastern section of Line 14 (Shan'gezhuang station – Jintai Lu station) opens for operation on December 28, 2014 with 12 stations in which Chaoyang Park station opens on December 31, 2016.

 

On December 26, 2015, the middle section of Line 14 (Beijing South Railway Station – Jintai Lu station) is seamlessly connected to the eastern section (Jintai Lu station – Shan'gezhuang station) and opens for operation in which Pingle Yuan station opens on December 30, 2017. 

 

On December 31,2021, the remaining section of Line 14 (Dongguantou station - Jingfengmen station) opens for operation, with a total of 5 stations. Since then, Line 14 commences full line operation.
