BJMTR takes multiple measures to ensure smooth travel for passengers during the summer travel season through adding short-turn routing during the afternoon off-peak hours, adjusting the temperature of carriages flexibly and introducing translation machines in 9 stations

The summer travel season of 2024 starts from July 1st and ends on August 31st, a total of 62 days. To ensure the safety and stability of the summer travel season in 2024, BJMTR formulates various plans in advance for Line 4-Daxing, Line 14, Line 16 and Line 17,focusing on train operation organization and the management of passenger flow at major stations. During the summer travel season this year, the total patronage of the lines operated by BJMTR is expected to increase significantly, reaching nearly 141 million, seeing an increase of about 8% compared to 2023.

To further enhance the travel experience of passengers, during the summer travel season (from July 1 to August 31, 2024), Line 4-Daxing by BJMTR will pilot a new timetable, which will increase the capacity during the afternoon off-peak hours from about 11 AM to 3 PM through adjusting the running mode and increase trains.

In view of the high temperature weather in summer, on the open-air sections of Line 4-Daxing and Line 14, the trains are cooled in advance before leaving the depots; BJMTR will flexibly adjust the temperature in carriages according to weather conditions to ensure a cool and comfortable travel environment for passengers in the hot summer.

To further enhance the travel experience for passengers, BJMTR has installed light-dimming film on the door-side indicator light panels of all trains on Line 14. This adjustment aims to modify the brightness of the door indicators, improving visual comfort for passengers and allowing them to more clearly obtain train arrival information while taking the metro.

In addition, on the basis of the pilot deployment of multilingual translators in four stations, BJMTR has introduced multilingual translators in 9 stations of Line 4-Daxing, including Beigongmen Station, Yuanmingyuan Park Station, Peking University East Gate Station, National Library Station, Beijing Zoo Station and Xidan Station as well as Jingtai Station of Line 14, Yuyuantan Park East Gate Station and Xiyuan Station of Line 16, to provide passengers with accurate and convenient travel services.
