BJMTR dynamically adjusts capacity and provides volunteer services to fully ensure passengers' safe and smooth travel during the Qingming holiday

The 2025 Qingming Holiday will last from Friday, April 4 to Sunday, April 6. As the weather turning warmer, citizens' demand for park visits, scenic tours, and spring outings is increasing, combined with tomb-sweeping passenger flow. BJMTR’s lines are expected to face rising ridership. To ensure passengers’ safe and orderly travel, BJMTR has advanced preparations through dynamically adjusting capacity allocation, strengthening station services, and expanding volunteer service initiatives, fully safeguarding passenger journeys during the holiday.

Stations near cemeteries, such as Tiangong Yuan Station on Line 4-Daxing, Xi Yuan Station on Line 4 and 16, have Optimize the crowd control plans in advance, Measures such as enhancing broadcast announcements and adding temporary signs have been implemented to guide passengers for quick entry and exit. Additionally, a service counter desk has been set up at Tiangong Yuan Station on Line 4-Daxing, along with the creation of convenient direction cards, providing passengers with travel consultations and route guidance services. At stations near commercial districts, parks, and tourist attractions, staff have been arranged in advance to focus on patrolling and guiding key areas such as entrance and exit AFG, transfer passages, and platforms to ensure smooth passenger flow. To improve the travel experience for passengers enjoying spring outings and flower viewing, a passenger flow optimization plan has been implemented at Yuyuantan Park East Gate Station. A lookout platform has been added in the concourse to facilitate staff in guiding passenger flow and offering timely assistance, ensuring smooth travel for passengers.

To expand opportunities for students to participate in volunteer services and gain social practice experience, BJMTR recently partnered with seven schools along its lines – including the University of International Relations, Peking University, Renmin University of China,  High School Affiliated to BIT, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Fengtai No.2 High School, and Beijing 57 High School – to jointly conduct station volunteer service activities. From weekends and holidays between March 22 to May 11, student volunteers will assist station staff at key locations including entrance, platforms, and ticket vending machines at Beigongmen Station, Peking University East Gate Station, National Library Station, Renmin University Station, Xizhimen Station on Line 4-Daxing, and Fengtai Station, Yuyuantan East Gate Station on Line 16. Their duties include providing route guidance and device operation assistance to passengers. While providing convenience for passengers, student volunteers are actively participating in urban public services, cultivating a spirit of volunteerism through hands-on experience, and enhancing their sense of social responsibility.
