July 14, BJL4 Children’s University was established at Yuanmingyuan station BJL4. Together with 40 students and their parents, head of the Publicity Department of Haidian District Government Mr. Chen Mingjie, GM of BJMTR Mr. Richard Wong, President of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) Mr. Cai Jianfeng and one of the Top Ten Outstanding Figures in Chinese Culture Heritage Protection Dr. Yao Yuan attended the open ceremony. Madam Lin Zhu – Wife of Liang Sicheng, sent a letter to congratulate the occasion.
BJL4 Children’s University is a public welfare project initiated by BJMTR and FLTRP. Children and their families are the audience of this project. Sessions on culture lyric protection, transport science and foreign language learning will be provided to them at different stages. Experts and scholars will be invited to metro stations or universities along BJL4 to exchange face to face with the students and their families, guide them to explore knowledge in various fields, cultivate their curiosity, initiative, public welfare awareness and social responsibility. The project will publish information, recruit student publicly, establish a “Higher Education Institute” without fence and gate --- BJL4 Children’s University.
