April 12, 2017, Mayor of Beijing Mr. Cai Qi met MTR delegation headed by CEO Mr. Lincoln Leong.
Mayor Cai Qi welcomed the delegation. He pointed out Beijing puts the development of public transport including metro transport as a key task in city construction and administration. Beijing joined hand with MTR in the construction and operation of BJL4 in 2005 and became an example of PPP project in metro in mainland China. During the 13th 5-Year Planning period, 321.6 km new rail will be added to Beijing metro network, an average of 64.3 km yearly. Beijing welcomes MTR to continue its participation in the investment, construction and operation of metro in Beijing. The government will try to build a fair competitive market environment and spare no effort to provide effective and honest administration services.
Mr. Lincoln Leong expressed MTR’s willingness to deepen its cooperation with Beijing and participate in the investment, construction and operation of more metro projects, improve metro service continuously.
