Lines of BJMTR see a surge of 17.7% increase in daily patronage as passengers return

With 2023 Spring Festival holiday coming to an end, lines operated by BJMTR are welcoming a wave of returning passengers. Since January 26 (the fifth day of the lunar new year), the daily average patronage has gradually recovered. By now, the daily average patronage of Line 4-Daxing is 694,000, the daily average patronage of Line 14 is 502,000, the daily average patronage of Line 16 is 138,000, and the daily average patronage of Line 17 is 34,000. Since the fifth day of the lunar new year, the daily average patronage of all lines of BJMTR has increased by 17.7% compared with the same period of last year.

To ensure the smooth transfer to railway station during the returning trip of the spring festival holidays and ensure the smooth travel of passengers arriving in Beijing at night, BJMTR is well prepared to extend operation of Line 4Line 14 and Line 16 according to the actual passenger flow. At the same time, BJMTR pays close attention to the passenger flow and adjusts the passenger transport organization arrangement accordingly to facilitate passengers’ travel. Among which, Beijing South Railway Station of Line 4 and Line 14 connects to Beijing South Railway Station, Fengtai Railway Station of Line 16 connects to Beijing Fengtai Railway Station. Dongfeng Beiqiao station of Line 14 is close to Beijing Chaoyang Railway Station. To ensure the smooth transfer to railway station,during the returning trip of the Spring Festival, BJMTR Line 4, Line 14 and Line 16 extended operation for a total of 6 days, and arranged 100 additional trains to ensure smooth travel of passengers.
