BJMTR released six safety travel tips to assist children and elderly passengers during metro travel in the summer travel season

To ensure the safe and smooth travel of passengers, BJMTR will continue to optimize the signs in the station, strengthen personnel presence and patrols at key locations such as lifts and automatic fare gates in the station, to enhance the travel experience of passengers. At the same time, during the summer travel season, there are more children and elderly passengers traveling on the metro. BJMTR has introduced six safety travel tips, which carefully outline overlooked details of metro travel, to assist children and elderly passengers in traveling safely during this period.

1. When parents accompany children under 1.3 meters in height through the automatic fare gates, they should let the child walk in front and pass through first. If there are two or more children being accompanied through the gates, please contact the station staff for assistance.

2. When waiting for the train, please do not let the child lean against the platform screen door. When you hear the door closing alarm, please stop and do not rush to get on or off the train.

3. When riding the escalator, please stand firm and hold onto the handrail. Pay attention to the safety of your feet and watch out for the gaps between the steps, especially if you are wearing sandals.

4.Parents pushing strollers and elderly passengers in wheelchairs should use the wider automatic fare gates to enter and exit the station and take the lifts to ensure a safe journey.

5. If a child or elderly person gets separated from their family while inside the station, please promptly contact the station staff for assistance.

6. During the peak hours of weekdays during the summer travel season, there tends to be more passengers. It is advised for children and elderly passengers to travel at off-peak times if possible.
