On Saturday, December 30, 2023, the north section of Line 17 opened as well as Line 16 achieved through-train service of BJMTR. January 2, 2024 (Tuesday) marks the first weekday that the north section of Line 17 opens as well as Line 16 achieves through-train service.
The operation of the north section of Line 17 is organized according to the timetable of weekdays with the minimum headway of six minutes during the morning peak hours and 8 minutes during off-peak hours and evening peak hours. Between 7:00-9:00 during the morning peak hours, the north section of Line 17 has a total passenger traffic of nearly 120,000. Among which, the Tiandongyuandong station has a large traffic with nearly 3,500 passenger journeys and the Future Science City station with about 2,000 passenger journeys. Taiyanggong station on the north section of line 17 can be interchanged with Line 10 and the interchange traffic is about 8,000. The operation order of BJMTR is stable and orderly.
The operation of Line 16 is organized according to the timetable of weekdays with the minimum headway of six minutes during the morning and evening peak hours and the minimum headway of 8 minutes during off-peak hours. Line 16 has a total passenger traffic of over 100,000, with Wanpingcheng station accounting for nearly 2,000. Suzhou Jie station, as the interchange station with Line 10,has the interchange traffic of about 4,000. The operation order of BJMTR is stable and orderly.
On January 2, 2024, the first working day after the New Year's holiday, Line 4-Daxing, Line 14, Line 16 and Line 17 formulated passenger transport organization plans and passenger flow guidance in advance. At stations with large passenger flow and transfer stations, personnel are stationed at AFG, transfer passages, platforms, and other locations to enhance monitoring and guidance, ensuring passenger safety and facilitating smooth travel.
