BJMTR STEAM Education program Launches Advanced Courses, Embarking on a New School Year’s Journey of Technological Exploration

On March 4 and 7, 2025, the BJMTR STEAM Education program entered the Primary School Attached to Capital University of Economics and Business and Beijing Dongcheng District Huimin Primary School bringing the first course of 2025—"Automatic Fare Gate-Cracking Operation"—to over 100 students from the two schools. In line with the 2025 "Back to School" season, BJMTR launched an advanced version of the Metro STEAM curriculum for upper primary students. Building on previous courses, the program introduced engineering design methodologies, allowing students to delve into the of engineering research and development, thereby embarking on a new academic year’s journey of technological exploration.

The BJMTR STEAM Education Program, since its launch last year, has reached multiple schools and engaged over 400 students through themed courses such as "Rail Exploration Adventure", "Train Decryption Mission", "Platform Screen Door Upgrade Challenge" and “Escalator Maintenance Battle”.

The relevant personnel of BJMTR stated that the newly launched Metro STEAM Advanced Series Courses build upon the original curriculum with a stronger focus on engineering design methodologies. These courses aim to help students deeply understand and master engineers' problem-solving mindset during design and development through hands-on practice and exploration, thereby sparking teenagers' interest and enthusiasm in rail transit and engineering technologies. Moving forward, BJMTR will expand its STEAM Education Program to reach more schools, providing broader access to rail transit technology and engineering experiences for students, cultivating innovative talents for future urban development.
