Beijing Issued Red Alert on Heavy Air Pollution BJMTR Triggered Emergency Plan

Reacting to the heavy air pollution, BJMTR triggered emergency plan on Dec. 7 immediately after authorities issued red alert to ensure smooth traveling of the citizens.   

Affected by the odd-even plate number car travel restriction policy, there may be a sharp increase of passenger flow at metro system.  BJMTR monitored passenger flow trend intensively. Additional trains will be dispatched at BJL4&DXL when necessary.  Train Operators enhanced watching at ground section and trains were kept within limited speed strictly;  Meanwhile, at all BJMTR operating stations, more persons were deployed at interchange pass ways, platforms and AFC gate to guide passengers; PIS and station PA broadcasted tips for safe traveling repeatedly. BJMTR Weibo posted information on air quality and train service to help people arrange their travel properly in advance.
