During May Day holiday, BJMTR added 29 trains to ensure smooth travel for nearly 8.551 million passengers

The May Day holiday in 2024 starts on May 1 and ends on May 5. During the holiday, lines operated by BJMTR carried a total of 8.551 million passenger trips. Among which, the patronage of Line 4-Daxing is 4.528 million, the patronage of Line 14 is 2.721 million, the patronage of Line 16 is 0.899 million, the patronage of the southern section of Line 17 is 0.208 million and the patronage of the northern section of Line 17 is 0.196 million. The overall organization of passenger transportation is stable and orderly on lines operated by BJMTR, which ensures the smooth travel of passengers during the May Day holiday.

To ensure smooth transportation connections for travelers arriving at Beijing South Railway Station, Beijing Chaoyang Station, and Fengtai Railway Station, and to facilitate their journeys during the holiday, BJMTR extended operation by five days and added 29 extra trains.

To facilitate passengers’ travel during the May Day holiday, BJMTR collaborated with the University of International Relations and Peking University en route to recruit student volunteers. They conducted volunteer service activities at Beigongmen Station and Peking Univ. East Gate Station on Line 4, guiding passengers to enter and exit stations quickly, assisting with ticket purchases, and directing passenger flow at entrances, exits, and transfer passages to ensure smooth travel.

May 6 is the first working day after the holiday, to ensure safe and smooth travel for passengers during the morning and evening rush hours, BJMTR has  prepared 16 trains on the main lines and depots, and get ready to add additional trains as needed. BJMTR will also appropriately allocate capacities during off-peak and evening peak hours to ensure smooth travel for passengers.
