BJMTR STEAM Education Project’s first course enters the Primary School attached to Capital University of Economics and Business, expanding interdisciplinary knowledge application scenarios

On September 6, 2024, BJMTR entered the Primary School attached to Capital University of Economics and Business in Fengtai District, Beijing, to give the first course after the launch of the BJMTR STEAM Education Project. More than 30 students in attendance experienced an exciting and diverse “Metro screen door exploration” course.

During this visit, BJMTR entered one of the contracted schools, the Primary School attached to Capital University of Economics and Business in Fengtai District, Beijing, to conduct the first class after the project launch. Through a combination of scientific explanations and model making, students were guided to gain in-depth understanding of the engineering technology and scientific principles behind the metro screen doors. BJMTR will further promote the implementation of BJMTR STEAM Education Project within the school.

Yang Ling, the Public Relations Director of BJMTR, expressed, “On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the opening of the first line of BJMTR, we have launched the first STEAM interdisciplinary education project in rail transit. This activity is the first practical implementation after the project launch. By introducing BJMTR STEAM courses into schools, students can gain deeper insights into the knowledge of rail transit engineering and technology. We are delighted to see their strong interest in the metro facilities and the principles behind them. In the future, we will introduce the project to more schools and communities, popularize rail transportation knowledge, cultivate their innovative thinking and interdisciplinary practical capabilities, and allow more young people to understand the beauty of rail transportation operations and design. We aim to raise awareness and encourage active participation in the development of urban transportation.”
